What it means
An approval route administered by VCA for qualifying vehicles approved and registered in the EU, with evidence of suitability for use in Great Britain.
The process can require declarations and evidence of alterations. VCA’s passenger-car application explains age, specification and previous-registration conditions; other vehicle types have their own forms. Read those requirements before commissioning work, rather than assuming every EU car follows the same route.
GB conversion IVA is separate from the DVLA registration application and from a general IVA test. An age exemption from this VCA procedure does not settle every document needed for registration or tax. If the route is uncertain, ask VCA to confirm suitability using the actual vehicle details.
