Register Your Car is a My Car Import service

Not a new company with a new website. The registration part of a UK importer that has been moving vehicles into the country for years.

  • 30,000+ vehicles imported by My Car Import to date
  • 4.8 rated on Trustpilot from 1,000+ reviews
  • In-house customs clearance and DVLA registrations not subcontracted out

An experienced importer who can help with the paperwork too

With this service you don't need to visit us at all, as long as you're happy to get an MOT, and any changes the vehicle needs, done locally to you.

My Car Import brings vehicles into the UK and gets them road-legal: shipping, customs, approval, registration. Most of that work needs the vehicle — an inspection, a test, a set of plates fitted. One part of it does not.

A vehicle imported from the EU can be registered with the DVLA on paperwork alone. Nothing about that requires it to be standing in our yard, or in the country at all. So rather than quote it as part of a full import, we offer it on its own, at a fixed fee, to people whose vehicle is already handled in every other respect — and the vehicle stays exactly where it is.

Customs, IVA and DVLA work is done in-house rather than subcontracted out, which is the reason the same people who confirm your vehicle is eligible are the ones dealing with the DVLA about it afterwards.

The full import service, and imports from outside the EU, live on the main site: mycarimport.co.uk, or get a quote for a full import.

Three things we will not do

Each of these costs us enquiries. We would rather lose those than win them on something we cannot stand behind.

  • Promise you a date

Once an application is with the DVLA, the pace is theirs. We will prepare it properly, submit it and chase it — and we will not put a number on their desk that is not ours to give.

  • Hand you a generic checklist

What the DVLA needs depends on the vehicle and the country it is registered in. A list that is right for most imports and wrong for yours is worse than no list, because you would have gathered the wrong things.

  • Quote our fee as the total

Our fee is for the registration work. The DVLA first registration fee, road tax and a Certificate of Conformity where one is needed go elsewhere, and we set them out for you. See pricing.

Now you know who is doing it

Tell us about your vehicle and we will confirm whether it can be registered. No payment is taken on this site.
