Can we measure how you use this page?

That means storing which advert brought you here, and loading Google Analytics. The form works either way.

What this stores

Which advert brought you here — if you came from a Google advert, the click reference and the campaign name. Kept in this browser for 90 days, and sent with your enquiry so we know which advert worked.

Google Analytics — Google's own storage, used to count visits and see which parts of this page get read.

Your part-filled form — kept until you close this tab, so a reload doesn't wipe what you've typed. This one happens either way: it is how the form works, and nothing leaves your browser.

On a vehicle this age the DVLA sets road tax by engine size, so this lets us price it exactly. It is on your V5C or registration document.

Do you already have a Certificate of Conformity?

A vehicle newer than 2016 needs one. Most people do not have it yet — if you do not, we obtain it for you and bill it on at what it costs.

Yes, I have one No, I need one I'm not sure

Where it is coming from

Where is the vehicle currently registered? If your car is outside of the EU, please fill in our quote form at My Car Import.

Its UK history

Was the vehicle originally registered in the UK?

Some vehicles sold new here are exported and later come back — a “former UK” vehicle. If yours is one, or you think it might be, tell us and we will check it.

Yes — it is a former UK vehicle No — it has always been abroad I’m not sure

Its UK registration number (optional)

The registration it had here. We can check it against the DVLA’s record — it tells us whether the vehicle is still marked as exported, and its CO₂ figure, which lets us price the road tax exactly.

Did you own the vehicle here before it left the UK?

A vehicle coming back to the person who exported it can usually return without import VAT or duty. If that is you, say so and we will confirm it with HMRC.

Yes — it was mine before it left No — I bought it abroad I’m not sure

The import

Why is the vehicle being imported?

I bought it abroad I am moving to the UK and bringing it with me

If neither quite fits, pick the closest and tell us the details when we come back to you.

What did you pay for it? (optional)

£

In pounds. HMRC charge import tax on this plus transport, so it lets us estimate that — leave it blank if you do not have a figure yet.

Here is what we think it will cost

We have your enquiry. This quote is worked out from what you have told us — a person checks it and confirms the figures in writing. You can pay now, or wait until they have.

To pay now

This covers our fee and the DVLA charges we can price now. Anything not yet priced, and HMRC’s import duty and VAT, are settled separately — we will be in touch about those. Paying now starts your order: we still check your vehicle qualifies, and if we cannot register it, our fee is refunded in full.

Online payment is not available for this quote, so we will confirm your vehicle and email you a payment link.

By generating your quote you agree we can use your details to confirm your vehicle’s eligibility and get in touch about registering it. We won’t pass them to anyone else. See our privacy policy.

Please don’t email me about My Car Import’s other services. We will still send everything about this enquiry.

One fixed fee, confirmed by email. Nothing is payable now.
